우리는 어딘가에서 안정을, 또 자유를 느낄까? 우산과 같은 얇은 막도 머리 위에 있음으로써 안전하다는 감각을 느끼게 해준다. 지붕이 있다는 것은 그런 것이다. ‘한 지붕 아래’처럼 안정적인 공간과 공통된 집합의 문화를 비유하는 말이기도 하며, 동시에 외부와 내부를 나누는 경계이기도 하다. 지붕이 안정과 머무름을 말하는 것과 대비되게, 바람은 한 공간에 종속되지 않고 이동하며, 순간으로 존재한다. 우리는 보이지 않는 바람을 맞으며 자유를 감각한다.

Where do we come to feel stability, and where do we sense freedom? Even a thin layer, like an umbrella held above our heads, can evoke a feeling of safety. A roof functions in much the same way. As in the phrase “under one roof,” it signifies a stable space and a shared collective culture, while also acting as a boundary that separates the outside from the inside. In contrast to the roof, which suggests stability and dwelling, the wind does not belong to a single place—it moves, existing only in fleeting moments. As we encounter the invisible wind, we come to sense freedom.
